2014 Porter Prize Award winners

2014Mark_ENG_3D_H.jpgOn October 29, the annual Porter Prize for the year 2014 has been announced by Hitotsubashi ICS

The Porter Prize was established in 2001 to bestow recognition on Japanese companies that have achieved and maintained superior profitability in a particular industry by implementing unique strategies based on innovations in products, processes, and ways of managing. The name of the award is derived from Professor Michael E. Porter of Harvard University, a leading authority on strategy with a longstanding interest in Japan. Hitotsubashi University's Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy is the organizer of this award.

The winners are:

* START TODAY CO. LTD., Online shopping mall ZOZOTOWN
* Hoshino Resorts, Hotel Management
* YKK CORPORATION Fastening Products Group., Fastner manufacturer and distributor

Porter Prize Conference 2014 will be held on December 2, 2014 (13:00 at Hitotsubashi Hall) for coping with Japanese companies' challenges from strategy innovation perspective. Selection Rationale would be announced at the Conference. The conference is programming a lecture by Prof Hirotaka Takeuchi of Harvard Business School and interviews on the winners of Porter Prize by Prof Ken Kusunoki of Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy.
