KNOWLEDGE WEEK 2014-2015 Distinguished Alumni Panel
Knowledge Week (KW) is offered as a required course in the week between the end of Term 2 (January-February) and the beginning of Term 3 (April-May): Saturday, March 28, 2015 through Tuesday, March 31, 2015. This intensive program provides students with an opportunity to take a step back from regular course work, to reflect what you have been learning in the program, and to start integrating your learning with your future goals.
The week starts with the "Distinguished Alumni Panel Day", which provides the students with opportunities to communicate directly with 4-5 ICS alumni who have gone through the tough days studying at ICS and have succeeded in building successful careers.
All students and alumni are cordially invited to join 2015 Alumni Panel Discussion that will be held from 10:00 on Saturday, March 28.

This year's panelists are:
● Jiro Kobayashi (Charlie) - MBA Class of 2001: Managing Director, ReachLocal Japan
Jiro Kobayashi joined ReachLocal Japan as a Managing Director in May 2014. Prior to joining ReachLocal, he was the Executive Director of Dell Japan heading the Consumer and Small & Medium business division. Within his 10 years at Dell, he held several leadership roles in eBusiness division and Marketing Communication division. Between 2003-2004, he was a Senior Consultant at Roland Berger, and from 1997 to 2001, he was a Director of a startup venture in the field of agriculture - biotech as one of the founders. He received a Master of Business Administration from Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy and holds a Bachelor of International Business and Politics from Aoyama Gakuin University.
● Kahori Miyake (Kahori) - MBA Class of 2003: Executive Officer, General Manager, Public Relations Dept. & Customer Service Dept., Aeon Retail Co., Ltd.
Kahori Miyake is an Executive Officer and General Manager of Customer Service Department, of AEON Retail Co., Ltd. She joined Jusco Co., Ltd., former Aeon, in 1991 after graduating from West Virginia University. After graduating ICS in 2005, she was appointed as President of Claire's Nippon Inc., one of AEON group subsidiary in 2008. She has been responsible for Customer Service since 2013 and became Executive Officer of AEON Retail Co., Ltd in 2014. AEON Group is comprised of over 250 companies and over 18,000 stores covering a wide variety of store formats such as superstores, supermarkets, drugstores, convenience stores, financial services and specialty stores in over 14 countries.
● Jaecheol Park (Jay) - MBA Class of 2008: Assistant General Manager, Sumitomo Corporation
Jaecheol Park (Jay) is an Assistant General Manager of Corporate Planning & Coordination Dept., Sumitomo Corporation, one of Top 5 Japanese trading companies (Sogo-Shosha). He majored in International Trade at Kyoungpook National University in Daegu, Korea and started his career at LG in Seoul, Korea as a product marketer responsible for Japan market. After hearing about ICS from Bin, Class of 2005, who worked at the neighboring dept., he decided to get his MBA at ICS and came to Japan with the 7 year-long scholarship from MEXT (Monkasho). During his days at ICS, he became interested in Japanese trading companies thanks to two great classmates from Mitsui & Co., LTD and joined Sumitomo Corporation after graduation from ICS. Jay loves singing and goes to Karaoke alone when he get stressed. He began practicing guitar from one year ago to sing at home, too.
● Win Htein Win (Win)- MBA Class of 2010: Founder and CEO, GUSTO
Win is a start-up entrepreneur in IT and Education industry. As a founder running a one-man business, in 2006, he started his entrepreneurship journey by providing advanced IT training, with only 5 PCs, to working professionals and University graduates. So far, his company, GUSTO has already trained more than 9,000 IT Professionals. While studying at ICS, he started to dream of establishing a private college/University in Myanmar. Soon after graduating from ICS, in mid 2011, he could manage GUSTO to become an accredited centre of Pearson/Edexcel, UK's largest education organization, in order to provide a QCF Level 5 HND diploma, equivalent of 2nd Year of UK Universities. And, 2012, he successful recruited 12 students for the first batch of the Diploma program. Currently, in 2015, there are around 200 students who are pursuing HND Diploma program at GUSTO. Apart from managing the business, he is actively contributing his time and knowledge in Myanmar ICT and education sector by serving as a chairman of education committee of Myanmar Computer Professionals Association (MCPA). Due to his positive contribution to Myanmar HR development and successful establishment of the private college, in 2013, he was selected as ASEAN Young Business Leaders from Asia New Zealand foundation and invited to NZ to explore the NZ business and education system.
● Kenichiro Yoshida (Ken)-MBA Class of 2012: Executive Vice President and Partner, Ichigo Asset Management, Ltd.
Kenichiro Yoshida is an Executive Vice President and Partner at Ichigo Asset Management, Ltd. Ichigo was established by Dr. Scott Callon and is a pioneer among the Japanese engagement investment firms. Ichigo invests in public companies and supports management-led positive change to catalyze the company's public market value to that intrinsic value. Ken studied at ICS in order to change his career as a sell-side equity analyst. Prior to joining ICS, he worked at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup and covered several industries such as trading companies and media. He also served as the Head of Equity Research at SMBC Nikko Securities Ltd. to establish the research department. He was included in the All-Japan Research Hall of Fame by the Institutional Investor for being one of the best analysts in Japan. Ken is an independent director of Ichigo Group Holding, a TSE listed company and a Chartered Member of Securities Analyst Association of Japan.
