Alumni Day 2015
Saturday, June 20, 2015, marked the biggest and best ICS Alumni Day yet.
Over 120 alumni and current students and also spouses joined together in spacious Hitotsubashi Hall. Alums from every single year attended since the first entering class in 2000. Several alumni gatherings in different countries also celebrated the annual event. This year's success can be credited to the great effort of the Alumni Association led by Nick Tanaka (2009), and advised by Professor Tom Ito.
Dean Kaz Ichijo kicked off the afternoon with a welcome speech that highlighted important planned changes at ICS in order to grow our school in a changing global business school environment.
As has become a tradition, the 10th anniversary class received special recognition with Choi Pil Soo (PhD) coming from Seoul as the Class of 2005 guest speaker.
The alumni were treated to favorite professor Jiro Nonaka's lecture presenting his latest research on leadership.
Former Dean and ICS founder Hiro Takeuchi was welcomed in a video interview from Boston. He emphasized that today's MBA students have a greater social entrepreneurial spirit than past student generations.
This segued smoothly to keynote speaker Lin Kobayashi, a successful social entrepreneur who is co-founder and Board Chairman of the International School of Asia in Karuizawa (ISAK). Ms. Kobayashi's presentation and personality demonstrated the passion, optimism, energy, and resiliency required to turn a dream into reality.
The class dinners following Alumni Day made for a perfect ending to a wonderful day.
Please mark your calendars for next year's Alumni Day in Tokyo: Saturday, June 18, 2016 !
