Jody Ono, ICS adjunct faculty, moderates panel on gender parity (featured in BCCJ ACUMEN)
On 8 March 2016, International Women's Day, ICS adjunct faculty Jody Ono was the moderator of a panel event celebrating women's professional achievements. The event, held at the Tokyo American Club in Minato ward, was featured recently in BCCJ ACUMEN, the magazine of the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan, April 2016 edition.
Jody Ono teaches ICS' MBA course "Leadership Development". To engage the panel of leading Tokyo-based businesswomen, Jody raised questions relating to gender and the workplace, in Japan and around the world. Citing recent findings on the relationships among factors like gender, leadership, and organizational structure, she emphasized that decisionmakers in business and policy consider the high value placed on flexibility, in particular with respect to employees' hours, in today's mobile and globalizing society.
