Global Network Week (GNW) is a one-week intensive offered through GNAM, an alliance of 29 top business schools around the world, as an opportunity for each student to pursue intensive study at another network school, in a focused mini course that leverages the perspectives, programs, and faculty expertise of that school. In the week of March 13-17, some 800 students from 20 schools are traveling to attend programs offered by GNAM partner schools around the world.
Our own Tokyo Program was voted once again as one of the most over-subscribed programs this year, and 60 students (selected from 170+ who applied) just flew in town and joined our classroom on Monday, March 13.
GNW Tokyo 2017 Class welcomed Takaaki Umezawa (Japan Chairman and Partner, A.T. Kearney; Member of Cool Japan Strategy Council, Government of Japan) as class guest to the session "Cool Japan and NeXTOKYO Project." Tak helped the group grasp the Cool Japan phenomenon and explore opportunities and challenges it would bring out to both Japanese companies and non-Japanese firms. Also as a founding member of NeXTOKYO Project, a consortium of academics, artists, architects, business executives, journalists, and policy makers, Tak shared with the group on-going discussion for redeveloping Tokyo into the world most attractive city toward 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
