Hitotsubashi ICS and Gimv (Belgium)

JCD Dean Ichijo 11 April 2017.jpgThe relationship between ICS and Gimv, one of Europe's largest private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) firms, has ended amicably after 14 productive and enjoyable years.

The relationship began when former Dean Hiro Takeuchi joined Gimv's Asian Advisory Council in 2003. In 2006, Professor Sherman Abe replaced Dean Takeuchi on the Council for another seven years.

From 2008 to 2012 Gimv created the Gimv Chaired Professorship, the first non-Japanese company to fund a chair at ICS.

In 2012, a Memorandum of Understanding between Gimv and ICS established broad ranging areas of cooperation, including four month student internships. Since then five ICS students have experienced the European PE world from Gimv's Antwerp headquarters.

ICS and Gimv remain close partners through the personal friendships built over the years.Gimv Dinner 11 April 2017 (1).jpg
