CBSCJ x ICS Joint Panel & Reception | Co-hosted by Columbia Business School Club Japan and Hitotsubashi ICS
On May 16th, ICS co-hosted a panel discussion with the Columbia Business School Club of Japan (CBSCJ). The ICS community (students, faculty, staff, and alumni) welcomed members of Columbia Business School: 39 students, a faculty member and 20 alumni. These CBS students and faculty member were visiting Japan in a group tour organized as a program of CBS's Chazen Global Study Tours.
The event started off with welcome remarks by Kenny Koga, Associate Professor of Hitotsubashi ICS and a CBS graduate (MBA 1993). Kenny took the lead in organizing this joint event with Kazue Sasaki, ICS Career Services Director. She also graduated from CBS (MBA 1997).
Then Yoshi Fujikawa, Associate Professor of ICS, gave a digest version of his session "Japan as National Innovation System". He also moderated the panel discussion "Venture businesses will change the world - bringing capital and talent around technologies" with dynamic group of panelists:

- Noriaki Sakamoto (CBS MBA 2010), Partner and Board of Directors, The University of Tokyo Edge Capital
- Yoishi Yoshimura, Managing Partner, Try Hard Investments (CBS MBA 2002)
- Ross Sharrott, Co-founder and CTO, Moneytree
They discussed the opportunities and challenges facing Japan from the viewpoint of the venture capitalist and entrepreneur.
The panel discussion was followed by a reception in which all participants enjoyed the interaction between ICS and CBS members. ICS hopes that the event has nurtured interest in Japanese business among the CBS students who participated in the Japan study tour.
