On Saturday, June 18, 2016, ICS Alumni Day 2016 was held, hosted by the ICS Alumni Association and Hitotsubashi ICS.
Over 100 alumni and current students and also spouses joined together in spacious Hitotsubashi Hall. Alums attended from every single year since the first entering class in 2000.

As we started live-streaming this event from this year, the alumni living/working out of Japan could watch the entire event from their home country. This year's success can be credited to the great effort of the ICS Alumni Association (ICSAA) led by Nick Tanaka (2009) and the leadership team, and supported by Professor Sherman Abe and ICS staffer Yoko Ohashi.

The current ICSAA leadership team has greatly contributed to ICS alumni activities for the past five years. At the reunion it was officially announced that a new Alumni leadership team would succeed them after the event.

Dean Kaz Ichijo kicked off the afternoon with a welcome speech that highlighted future important planned changes at ICS in order to grow our school in a changing global business school environment.
As has become a tradition, the 10th anniversary class received special recognition and Tamao Yamashita gave a speech covering their memories at ICS on behalf of the Class of 2006.
Former Dean and ICS founder Hiro Takeuchi was a surprise special guest and updated alumni/students about his current activities at Harvard Business School.

Mr. Atsushi Morisawa, General Manager of Mars Japan, was invited as the keynote speaker, and talked about the very interesting story of Mars' product development process covering the keys for innovation, and how to win in this competitive Japanese market and globally. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of low cost risk taking instead of passive inaction. The presentation was informative and very well received.

After the coffee break, Ms. Yoko Ishikura, Professor Emeritus, Hitotsubashi University, delivered a thoughtful presentation about the future of industry in the changing Japan market, and how lifelong learning is important. She gave the ICS alumni and current students an encouraging message to "Enjoy and live your life".

As the final attraction of the event, Roger Sherrin (Class of 2006) & his band, The Boso Boys, brought their extraordinary mix of Americana music to celebrate this annual reunion. All ICS members there highly enjoyed the singing and rhythms of their upbeat music.

Class dinners following Alumni Day made for a perfect ending to a wonderful day.

Please mark your calendars for next year's Alumni Day, which is planned for sometime in June 2017.
