How to Apply

If you are interested in studying at Hitotsubashi ICS as an exchange student, please follow the steps outlined below to complete the application and enrollment process. Each step is designed to ensure a smooth transition into your exchange experience, from nomination to arrival and the start of your studies.

Step 1

 

 

Formal Nomination

Students interested in applying for the Hitotsubashi ICS Exchange Program must first receive a formal nomination from their home institution’s exchange program coordinator. Only students from ICS partner universities are eligible to apply.

Step 2

 

Formal nomination and CV submission

After receiving the nomination, home institution’s exchange program coordinator submits student’s nomination and CV to ICS External Affairs Officer. Upon approval, the ICS External Affairs Officer will send a welcome email with further instructions to the student directly.

Step 3

Start the Student Visa Application Process

The ICS External Affairs Officer will provide guidance on the visa application process, including document submission requirements.

Step 4

 

Apply for Guest Room Accommodation

Students who wish to stay in the Hitotsubashi University Chiyoda Campus guest room must apply through the ICS External Affairs Officer.

Step 5

 

Pre-Enrollment in Preferred Courses

Students will receive guidance on course pre-enrollment, including access to syllabi and other relevant materials to assist in course selection.
📌 Note: Required courses are not open to exchange students, except for selected Signature Courses.

Step 6

 

Arrival and Onboarding

Upon arrival at ICS, the External Affairs team will provide a campus tour, assist with administrative procedures, and ensure a smooth transition into the program.

Step 7

 

Start of Studies

With all preparations complete, students will begin their academic term at Hitotsubashi ICS.

Accommodation

HITOTSUBASHI ICS GUEST ROOMS
Exchange students may stay in
Hitotsubashi ICS’s guest rooms, located in the same building as the Hitotsubashi ICS campus. It should be noted that the number of guest rooms is limited.

Single

Room type A: 21m2 

Room type B: 18m2 

Rent

Room type A: JPY 3,700* per night for the first five days and JPY 2,600* per night thereafter
Room type B: JPY 3,200* per night for the first 5 days and JPY 2,200* per night thereafter
(*as at May, 2025; subject to change).

Rent includes tax, electricity, and water.
