Applied Investment Process (MBA)

 

 

Hironobu Katoh received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. He began his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers before moving into equity research at Deutsche Securities and Indus Capital. He later served as a Portfolio Manager at Point72 Asset Management and subsequently managed long-term fundamental investments in Japanese equities and foreign bonds at Japan Post Bank.

Katoh is the Founder and CEO of Gyoseki Co., Ltd., which develops and provides a platform that supports the visualization and sharing of the investment process. He also serves as a Member of the CEO Advisory Board of MEITEC Group Holdings. In addition, he is actively involved in financial education by organizing the Gyoseki Competition, a fundamental analysis competition for university students, and through lectures and educational programs on finance and investing.

At Hitotsubashi ICS, Katoh teaches Applied Investment Process. The course integrates perspectives from both the sell-side and buy-side and draws on his experience in equity research, long/short investing, and long-term fundamental investing to provide students with a practical understanding of the investment process.
