Meet our faculty

Makiko Kuramoto, Ph.D., is a psychologist specializing in organizational, developmental, and cultural psychology. She works as an organizational consultant, executive coach, trainer, and university lecturer, applying evidence-based psychology to leadership and organizational practice.

Before entering academia, Dr. Kuramoto spent more than a decade in global business. She served as a Global Program Manager in the automotive industry, leading multinational programs and collaborating with multicultural teams across global organizations. These experiences shaped her perspective on leadership, organizational dynamics, and intercultural collaboration.

Alongside her work with organizations, she teaches psychology at the university level. Her teaching emphasizes critical thinking, self-reflection, and active dialogue, encouraging participants to connect psychological theory with the realities of leadership and organizational life.

Her professional interests include leadership development, team effectiveness, systems thinking, resilience, employee engagement, mental well-being, and evidence-based organizational development. She has published eleven peer-reviewed academic papers and remains committed to bridging psychological science with leadership practice.
