Masahiro Imaeda graduated from the Faculty of Law, Hokkaido University, completed the Graduate School of Law, Kyoto University, and the MBA program at Emory University School of Business.

After working for Nippon Mining (now ENEOS Holdings, Inc.), Professor Imaeda started his management consulting career at the consulting unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has gained experience in this area by serving management roles for many years, including a partner and sector leader position of the Communications sector that served for the Media and Utility industries in IBM Business Consulting Services, Inc. He also served as a Vice President of RHJ International (formerly Ripplewood HD). Then, he found Eminence LLC, a consulting and training business, in 2012 and is currently a representative partner of Eminence LLC. He hosts various business programs broadcasted online.

Professor Imaeda teaches at the Graduate School of Business Breakthrough University and the Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy, Hitotsubashi University.

With over 20 years of experience in management consulting, Professor Imaeda has published numerous business books, including Digital senryaku no kyokasho (Chuokeizai-sha, 2020), Jitsumu de tsukaeru senriyaku no kiyoukashiyo (Nikkei Publishing Inc, 2018), Business model no kyokasyo Advanced (Toyo Keizai Inc, 2016), Business model no kyokasyo (Toyo Keizai Inc, 2014), and Jissen scenario planning (with co-author, Toyo Keizai Inc, 2002).

His current research interests are digital business and professional service. As a consultant, he advises companies in various industries such as banking, systems integration, wholesale, heavy equipment manifesting, and utility.
