Graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo in 1981. After joining the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Current the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) for 30 years, I served in various policy fields such as (1) public finance, (2) regional economic development, (3) trade policy, (4) natural resource and energy policy, and (5) government reform, and took charge in numbers of legislations.

After serving as the Chief Representative of the New York Trade Insurance Office, the Director of the Financial Cooperation Division, the Director of the Financial Services Division, the Counselor to the Cabinet, and the Director-General for consumer policy　among others, I was appointed the Director-General of the Kyushu Bureau of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

After retired in 2010, I joined INPEX Co., Ltd. I had been responsible for corporate strategy and public relations, and had served as Executive Officer, Director and SVP of INPEX for 12 years. During this time, I had formulated corporate strategies, business plans, managed external communications, and legal affairs. As the largest oil and natural gas developer in Japan, I had been working to expand and diversify the stable energy supply, and to deal with the energy transition, with a focus on climate change issues. I was appointed current position in February. 2025.
